Haven't nailed it down yet but getting much closer and learning lots along the way!
Ended up here and I liked where it was going but they felt too generic and kind of uninspired. Not something I felt was fitting of an indie game, or that I was especially excited about.
Played around with different stylizations, I liked this but it still didn't quite fit.
Did a lot of sketching trying out different stuff. I referenced Brother Bear a lot because I love how they simplified the forms of the bears and emphasized the anatomy.
I felt these two were stronger so I fleshed them out a bit further.
We had a 3D student start with us so I quickly got this turnaround together based off based off the bear. Didn't quite capture the vibe I want but it would be a good challenge for the student.
Threw this guy together in case the student wanted something simpler to try, but ended up liking him, he's got a weird kind of charm haha
